Van Canto ask you to Trust in Rust

With “Trust in Rust” German metal acappella masters Van Canto will release their seventh studio album via Napalm Records on August 10th.

To celebrate this Van Canto released a lyric video for the first single “Back In The Lead” from their new album “Trust in Rust“. The Band said,

It’s been more than 2 years after our last tour, this song wraps it up – we want to sing and are just happy to be Back In The Lead!

This track is essentially an advert for what the group can do and, by Odin and Thor, this is an advert you just want to listen to over and over. If this is an example of what they can do then this is going to be a cracker of an album. The melodies and interplay of the A Cappella style creates an orchestral feeling that resonates with something deep down in your gut. It is music stripped right back down to its most naked form. Now, just remember, this is basically an advert so it is going to be hugely self referential, just go and find what they can do on YouTube and decide then if what they sing about themselves stacks up.

Van Canto are referred to A Cappella, and ‘A cappella’ means ‘in the style of the chapel’ referring to vocal only music sung in a  small worship space and nowadays means any music sung without accompaniment. So they are not strictly A Cappella like a pescetarian not strict a vegetarian. But who cares?!? The style is A Cappella-esque drawing you into a fantastic new genre of rock and metal. It just feels epic and perfect to allow your mind to wander while your head nods in time.

Bringing pure vocal power to the metal world since 2006, German metal a-cappella masters Van Canto are made up of seven members and their new album “Trust in Rust” covers a wide stylistic range from melodic to bombastic, showcasing their own takes on ballads, hard rock ballbreakers and speed metal anthems.

Covers include Helloween’s “Ride the Sky” (feat. Kai Hansen) and AC/DC`s ‘Hell’s Bells’ allow for a completely fresh glimpse at the vocal crew. With several albums in the European Top 20, worldwide touring from Europe to Australia and festivals like Wacken and Masters of Rock under their belt, Van Canto surely gained some patina (in the most positive sense) over the years. The sound of Trust in Rust reflects these experiences from the road and the time passed with unbroken power and dedication to the human voice in heavy metal: “We will not kneel before stainless steel – for patina we lust – Trust in Rust!”

Seven voices on the seventh album and on their seventh tour. The portents are right for Van Canto!!
