NEWS: MISS VELVET & THE BLUE WOLF’s Mind Altering “Super Bon Bon” Video Premieres Friday 22 November

George Clinton protégés Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf wanted something mind-altering for their funked up version of Soul Coughing’s “Super Bon Bon” so they enlisted the help of Tal Ben-Avraham and Polly Baggott, newly minted students from the Art Institute of Chicago to create an animated clip. Clinton and members of the band appear as their Psychedelic alter egos in this Peter Max meets Yellow Submarine era visual treat.

Super Bon Bon” continues the aural assault from their acclaimed Feed The Wolf album with an assist from George Clinton who’s blessed the band with nearly two years of road wisdom. Here Soul Coughing’s alternative rock/hip hop gets Funked-up with a phat bottom and a soaring melody courtesy of Miss Velvet’s wonder vocals. Super Bon Bon is “Must See TV”

As Clinton, Miss Velvet and the band journey to inner space, Science Fiction fans may draw comparisons to the 1966 film “Fantastic Voyage” where miniaturized scientists are sent on a mission to repair the brain of a colleague. A detailed production which builds upon the quirky artwork of New York avant artist Miguel Villalobos, “Super Bon Bon” is the first work of Ben-Avraham and Baggott’s newly formed Pomme Studios. Currently making the festival rounds, the clip was an Official Selection for the Moscow Shorts International Film Festival (10/19), and is a semi-finalist at the Catharsis International Film and Video Festival. Super Quotes for Super Bon-Bon

Rock and Blues Muse
Feed The Wolf kicks off with the immediately-hypnotizing “Super Bon Bon,” a no-holdsbarred heavy funk track that lets Miss Velvet showcase multiple sides of her God-given instrument while the band flexes its considerable muscles. It’s an instant attention-getter and a strong statement of originality and intent. The Blue Wolf lineup of Constance “CDiddy” Hauman (Keyboards), Nick “Drum Nicky” Carbone (Drums), Henry “The Dude” Ott (Guitars), James “Jimi Beamon” Jones (Bass), Trevor Neuman (Trumpet), Dan Levine (Trombone), and Timothy “TJ” Robinson (Trombone) is a high-level human music generator that has the skills and the soul to match Miss V step-for-step, a task that would obliterate a weaker band

GET READY TO ROCK!
In the nicest possible way, the first word that comes to mind as ‘Super Bon Bon’ the opening track of “Feed the Wolf” unfolds is “sweaty”. Miss Velvet & The Blue Wolf’s second album feels dirty and raw; Lead singer, Miss Velvet is a New York native and brings a swagger and sass that immediately encourages the listener to imagine they’re getting hot and heavy at a concert. The horns are tight while the bass work by Jimi Beamon brings heft, all building to a glorious cacophony as Miss Velvet screams “you’re my Super Bon Bon baby!” What’s lacking in lyrical subtlety is made up for in sheer fun.

George Clinton
“Miss Velvet’s voice is the definition of Rock n Roll.”
