NEWS: KRYSTHLA Unveil Album “Worldwide Negative” And Reveal New Video Ahead Of Bloodstock

The British extreme metal band KRYSTHLA have announced details of their follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed ‘Peace In Our Time’, an album which saw the Northamptonshire metal group hit the number two slot in Amazon’s rock and metal chart alongside Mastodon and While She Sleeps.

KRYSTHLA’s third studio album,”Worldwide Negative“, will be released on 16th August and to add to this exciting announcement they have revealed a music video for the impressive new song ‘Zero Sum Game’, a track which has received extensive airplay on Kerrang!, Primordial, Bloodstock Radio and many more!

Metal Hammer’s Louder readers voted the song number one in their Tracks Of The Week, which also featured Slipknot in the final top three!

Speaking about the band’s return, producer and Krysthla guitarist Neil Hudson says:

“We are extremely excited to finally reveal details about our new album, “Worldwide Negative“. We always push ourselves to the limit when producing new music, but this upcoming release exceeded what we thought we had in the tank. It’s been an exhaustive but exhilarating process! “Worldwide Negative” is an album with more of an introspective view towards ourselves as the human race, how we impact the world and each other. In the pursuit of happiness, safety and security we’re slowly destroying our sense of empathy and giving in to a darker way of life that ultimately can only end in misery.”

KRYSTHLA’s new release was produced, mixed and mastered by Neil Hudson at Initiate Audio and Media Studios in Wellinborough, England.

Worldwide Negative‘ is released 16th August 2019 via PHD.

NEGATIVE
Negative is about the constant struggle with doubt and paranoia that poisons the mind of anyone that finds themselves in a dark place mentally. The whole world seems gripped by sadness right now. How do we find a place or even live inside this worldwide negative? My first experience of suicide is from when an old friend killed himself using the fumes from his car in his garage. I’d seen him a few days earlier for a guitar lesson.

REAWAKEN
Reawaken is the sister song to Negative, in that although you may feel totally and utterly lost and on the verge of self harm, or worse. There’s always a way through it, and you’re certainly not alone.

GRIEF IS NEW LOVE
Grief draws inspiration from the darkest most primal of instincts. Selfishness, fear, and the willingness to succumb to these urges to feel fulfilled. But in the process of doing so, you realise your mind and spirit pay the ultimate price.

ZERO SUM GAME
Zero Sum Game is about how life itself is caught in the endless sway of life and death, and without one or the other there is nothing. But while in this constant state of expiration and rebirth we desire and chase utterly meaningless things that don’t actually mean anything. A little note to my daughter in this track, hoping she avoids becoming an empty void the chasm we’re all seemingly stuck in.

WHITE CASTLES
White Castles was written immediately after watching a Saturday Night Live sketch, with The Rock acting as mad scientist. As part of a competition all the evil scientists had to invent something evil! One invented a shrink ray, one freezes things, but The Rock invented a child molesting Robot. And described how he made it. Building a normal robot, molesting it himself and watching it repeat the cycle. The audience were in hysterics laughing at the blueprints of how child molesters often stem from being abused themselves, in the name of selling some white castle sandwiches. In the words of Al Jourgensen (Ministry) “You’ve been taken but you don’t know it yet!”

PSALM OF HEARTLESSNESS
Donald Trump and the idea of building walls in 2019. Division, mistrust and a hatred towards those who need help or seek a better life. This song asks you to take a good look at yourself and see where you sit in life. One day it might be you seeking help. Our children learn from our example. Backward nationalism and use of violence will only end up with one outcome.

AUREA MEDIOCRITAS
The middle ground between two sinful extremes. Causing enormous suffering or death to secure peace for the greater good? In the name of progress we’re more than prepared to kill or destroy life, land, water and turn an ignorant blind eye. But now that we’re more aware than ever of the consequences, sitting by and doing nothing is just as sinful act as the act itself.

THE GIFT
When someone takes their own life, they pass on all their sadness and guilt to everyone who loved and cared about them. The sadness doesn’t go away. It’s just reborn in different ways in everyone else. It’s an unwanted gift that you can’t avoid.
