NEWS: HANGFIRE Release New Album “BURN” via Rottweiler Records on 02 May

Rottweiler Records were quick to welcome Hangfire into their pack, impressed by the band’s huge potential, great songs and enthralling live performances with the likes of Greyhawk and Witch Ripper. Together Rottweiler and Hangfire will unleash the power and passion of Burn on May 2nd so be ready, because you don’t want to miss this!

The seeds of Washington State metal band, Hangfire, were sown when guitarist Sean ‘Shredder’ Searls, noted for his work with Tyraels Ascension and hugely experienced bassist Steven Tolbeck crossed paths on their local music scene.

They started working together, the dream being to create a new band with a classic sound – powerful, melodic heavy metal with a thunderous rhythm section and soaring vocals, riffs that instantly connected with the metal heart and solos that gleamed with the irresistible fire of the greats.

After two years they found powerhouse drummer Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Laird (The Braindead, For The Love Of Suffering etc) and a year later, the final magical piece of the puzzle – vocalist Jenea Fiore. And now it’s time to Burn!

Hangfire’s debut album, Burn, is an instant metal classic. The anticipation is there immediately as the atmospheric intro of first track, ‘Hunger’, begins…and when it explodes into life in an array of magnificent riffs then the fabulous adrenaline rush kicks in. Searl’s lead guitar work is electrifying and Jenea’s voice simply breathtaking, while Tolbeck and Laird create a rock solid foundation, a stage for them to duel across.

Every song is marked by incredible individual performances, but also by the accomplished writing and arrangements.

The pure metal magnificence of ‘Thunder’, the epic Priest-like style and bite of ‘Warhawk’; it’s so refreshing to hear such dexterity and creativity channelled into original, melodic heavy metal and a band unafraid to stretch out into different territories confident in their vision and abilities.

Jenea is simply one of the finest singers you’ll hear operating in this field. Her range and accuracy matched only by her breadth of expression and character. The aggressive swagger of ‘White Lie’ and the beautifully executed ballad, ‘Falling Awake’ really shine a spotlight on her remarkable talent.

With an album of this quality every song plays an integral part, but special mention must be given to first single ‘Headspin’ which captures the true spirit of metal in its every moment, as well as the grit and groove of the Western tinged ‘Outlaw’. This is the beginning of something special.
