Seething Akira Produce a Magnetic Track

Just when you think the world of metal and rock couldn’t throw you a curve ball, Seething Akira throw the curviest of curve balls.

They blast your earholes with their single “Matching Poles of Magnets” that leaves your mouth hanging open in disbelief at what you have been listening to.

Lets get this right out there front and centre, Seething Akira are a 5 piece Electronic rock band from Portsmouth, UK. They combine rock riffs, electronica and doubled up angry rapping harmonic vocals.  Yeah, wrap your head around that. That. Should. Not. Work.

But in this world of bizarre mashups, these guys pull off the greatest of stunts producing a heavy catchy tunage wrapped up in full on aggressive grime like Stormzy, Wiley or Devlin had come across metal for the first time and thought it a good idea to have a go. This is Grime Metal. And that still hasn’t addressed the image conjured up with their name – this is angry anime.

“Matching Poles of Magnets” is an exemplary track to showcase what Seething Akira can do. Blasting in like they have invited Tim Westwood round for a Carlsberg. It is a perfect movie track where Noel Clarke or Joe Cornish have asked for a heavy aggressive piece of metal grime. If the Cybermen could have a new theme tune once they broke their programming and could cope with emotions, this would be it.

It is indescribably full of aggressive energy that is infectious and has fantastic backing chants of “We will not Fail” along with a beguiling chorus that has hints of the dystopian Altered Carbon or Bladerunner. It assimilates itself into your tribal cortex with belligerence and sets up roadblocks all round in defensive positions. Once you have heard this track there is no going back. This attacks the Block with no mercy.

This is a great track to have on in the background when playing the likes of Cyberpunk 2020 or Shadowrun RPGs or may even fit with Infinity the skirmish tabletop game.

The single “Matching Poles of Magnets” is out now with the new album ‘Sleepy Skeletor’ lined up for release on 29th June.
